River Island are KILLING IT with their holiday style at the moment! I love treating myself to something from River Island every now and again. Emphasis on the word ‘treat’ because it’s definitely not the cheapest of clothes shops but the quality is so high and I love some of their statement pieces.
I know I get a little peckish between meal times and I’m sure many of us do! I know I also end up snacking if I’m bored doing essays at uni, but snacking doesn’t always have to be unhealthy or something you might regret! I’ve made a list of some of the snacks I reach for if I want to satisfy that little bit of hunger. Or boredom…
I went shopping around Valentines Day and I was desperately looking for a good quality foundation that didn’t make my face look orange. I have fairly pale skin and struggle to find a foundation that doesn’t make me look like a satsuma. This is the issue with buying foundations I find, as even though you test the colour on the back of your hand in the store, it never seems to look the same when it’s actually on your face. Then you’ve spent the money and there’s no way back.
When I started university this year, I really noticed how bloated and uncomfortable I was getting by eating simple things such as my granola in the morning or a piece of toast. So I did some research and there were quite a few pieces of advice that included limit the amount of gluten in your diet. So that’s what I have been trying very hard to do and I have to admit, I’m feeling so much better because of it! I’m not nearly as bloated and uncomfortable after eating, so I’ve kept this up. I mean, if I’m eating out and really fancy something like bread or pasta, I won’t deny myself having it, but for the most part I am eating gluten free and cleanly. So this is what a typical day in my food looks like!
For a couple of years now, I have been applying eyeliner religiously every day if I’ve been going anywhere. I do like wearing eyeliner because it makes my eyes stand out and draws the attention to them rather than any imperfections on my skin. However, many of you will understand how painfully frustrating and time consuming applying eyeliner can be. I’ve never been very good at it, I can never get both eyes to match and it ends up stressing me out. So lately, I’ve decided to change up my everyday makeup routine, especially if I have to get up early for uni, and just apply eye shadow to define my eyes.
Lately, I have become absolutely obsessed with lipsticks and lip glosses. I was recommended the NYX lingerie liquid lipstick which I fell in love with after first trying it. Obviously I had to go and try more NYX lip products! They are an amazing alternative to traditional lipsticks and come in so many stunning colours. They are so comfortable to wear and I can’t wait to buy even more! Here is my rundown –
We all have our good days and we all have our bad days. It’s okay to not be okay all of the time, we’re only human. If you’re struggling to keep positive, you are not alone. But remember, it is important to look after yourself, your physical and mental wellbeing. Don’t forget to spare some time to focus on YOU. Here are a few self-care tips I stick by.
As I’m currently a student, I love a bargain. I mean who doesn’t? You don’t have to break the bank for some really good quality products, including for your makeup. Even though I do like treating myself to the occasional high-end beauty product, I like to find high quality products for low prices. Here are a list of budget beauty items I’m repurchasing at the moment:
I have tried everything, and I mean EVERYTHING there is to try to make my skin clear. I used to suffer so badly with acne and it made me self-conscious and pretty unhappy. I know that there are a lot of people going through the same situation. I have tried so many different face washes, creams and techniques, I don’t think I could find anything I haven’t tried before at some point. However, after all this experimenting with different lotions and potions, I have got my skin to the point where I am really happy with how I look. So I’ve made a list of tips and tricks I stick by to keep this up!
During the winter months, the cold weather can be harsh on the skin. I find my skin is not as clear as it was during the summer and it can be quite dry. Along with drinking a bit more water, I have put together a little list of my favourite winter skin care products I love to use during the colder months.
