It’s The Simple Things

Sometimes, it just the little simple things that happen in our daily lives that make us smile. Sometimes, the happiest moments are the unplanned, unexpected ones.

The smell of freshly cut grass

Lighting a scented candle

Being asked how you are and if you are okay

A smile from a stranger walking past or someone close to you

A simple ‘thank you’ from someone for the effort you’ve made

Freshly shaved legs

Walking along the beach, feeling the sand under your bare feet and listening to the sound of the waves

Hearing a song being played that means something to you

The morning text from someone you love

A lovely hot drink when it’s freezing outside

The sun shining through your window when you wake up

Freshly tumble-dried clothes

Having a long, hot bubble bath

A hug from someone close to you

Finding money in your pocket you didn’t realise you had

A little compliment, no matter who it’s from

Waking up in the middle of the night and realising you still have hours left of sleep before your alarm

Having a really good hair or makeup day

Snuggling in the warm as you hear the pouring rain outside

Finding out the item you’ve had your eye on is actually in the sale

Sleeping in fresh bed sheets

Someone letting you know how much you mean to them

What are some of the little things that always cheer you up?

Lots of love,

Bex

  1. Such a lovely and positive post! Waking up waaaay before your alarm goes off and knowing you still have time to go back to sleep is one off the best feelings haha! And freshly shaved legs as well, especially with fresh sheets and pyjamas! There are so many little things that make a huge difference to a day ☺️ xx

  2. I love this post, it makes you rethink the little things in life. Some of the little things I love; fresh bed sheets, small talk with strangers, cup of tea on the morning, when someone picks you up something small like your favourite drink – but it’s the thought that counts. xx
